Boxing clubs throughout the nation have opened their doors throughout the Christmas holiday to train and feed disadvantaged children - all thanks to funding from Maverick Stars.

Following the success of the Holiday Hunger/Fit and Fed programme's that were rolled out during the summer holidays, the festive period offered the chance to reach out to more young people who may otherwise have nowhere to go and little to eat.

Each gym runs its own bespoke programme, but all offer at least an hour's training followed by a nutritious meal free of charge. Participants that complete a series of training tasks are awarded a Police and Community Clubs of Great Britain certificate and t-shirt.

Boxing Clubs involved in the initiative include: Moss Side Fire Station (pictured), Kirkdale, Jennings, Inner City, South Wye Police, North Road, Odells, Leam Lane, Seaham, Gemini, Billingham, Lee Jones and Unity.

Every Festive Day is Boxing Day!
