Amateur boxer for Moss Side Fire Station
The highlight of Conner’s career so far has been the bronze medal he won for England at the Youth World Championships in Hungary in 2018 – although most watching believed the teenager had done enough to make it through to the final. 2020 - Conner has recently been picked to join the olympic GB Boxing squad.
Regardless, the Mancunian middleweight has a burgeoning reputation in the sport and is dreaming of representing Great Britain at the Olympics. He’s certainly come a very long way since walking into Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club as a wide-eyed eight-year-old.
As well as working hard in progressing his own career, Conner has joined forces with Maverick Stars to work on projects that will help other young people stay on track to achieve their goals.
Conner said: “The support I get off Maverick Stars is helping me continue my path and I want to work with the charity to help others just like me. It’s hard to stay motivated and in the gym when there are so many distractions, but hopefully I can be an example to others.”
